Every tonne of captured carbon dioxide faces a binary destination: it can be buried, or it can be built into a molecule. This paper sets out why our family office invests behind the second answer. On both economic and policy grounds, we treat captured CO₂ as a feedstock for green methanol rather than a cost to sequester. Storage monetises carbon only through subsidy or a carbon price, whereas utilization embeds each tonne in a saleable product with intrinsic market value. Green methanol is the natural utilization anchor — a storable liquid that consumes captured CO₂ and green hydrogen and serves as both a marine fuel and the precursor to sustainable aviation fuel. It is uniquely well placed because it is liquid at ambient conditions, compatible with existing storage and bunkering infrastructure, and already moving through commercial supply chains, with the world's first commercial-scale e-methanol plant operating. Its economics remain premium and hydrogen-dependent. We do not back DAC developers directly; the cost curve, scale-up risk, and technology-winner uncertainty make first-of-a-kind plants a poor fit for patient capital. Instead we invest in the equipment companies that supply the essential secondary technology every DAC project needs regardless of capture chemistry: compression, CO₂ purification, gas handling, heat integration, and system integration. Binding mandates are now in force or scheduled across the largest aviation markets, aviation is emerging as a committed, creditworthy buyer, and the MtJ pathway reached ASTM approval in 2026 — removing the single largest barrier to commercial investment. Consistent with the rest of the series, we do not take the technology or single-project risk of building SAF plants; we favour the equipment and technology suppliers whose licensed process units and conditioning systems every MtJ facility requires. This paper stress-tests that thesis against the metal-organic framework (MOF), the material at the physical heart of solid-sorbent gas separation — the same adsorbent science that drives carbon capture, biogas upgrading, hydrogen purification, and air separation alike. MOF chemistry has crossed into commercial manufacture (marked by the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry), machine-learning discovery has collapsed the search from years to weeks, and advantage is shifting from who discovers a sorbent to who can deploy it.
